This book was so much fun to read. JT Kalnay is just great with descriptions....descriptions of people, places, and actions and events. For example, when Ginny, the main character in this book, takes part in the Silver Man Triathlon, JT's description of her bike ride is better than a movie! He takes his readers on that ride...you are there!!! with her!! and your legs are tired!! Really tired!! Ginny has three passions in life...her athletic endeavors, her computer hacking, and her need to free herself of the bullying images which haunt her thoughts and her dreams. She tries very hard to keep them all separate, but sometimes she cannot....and the results are nearly disastrous!
I can hardly wait for G2!
Often times it is hard to know which writers to follow and which ones to try. I downloaded this novel for free the day J T Kalnay made it available as such on kindle. I was hooked from the beginning and fell into a world of intrigue and suspense that would not let me put this book down.
The main character, Ginny, was so intriguing and such a joy to follow. She is a skinny girl that grows into a woman who not only is extremely smart and gifted in hacking, but a star athlete also. While part of the novel has her on the shady side of hacking, she has a purpose, a goal she has to obtain. She wants to be the best, and being the best requires making the best decisions. As a reader this is the question you want answered. That is why you have to read this book. Just be forewarned that once you start it, you will not be able to put it down either.

I loved the crisp, clear writing style. I loved Ginny. I loved the theme.
I know the author interviewed athletes and certainly knows his computer programming - I was a former FORTRAN programmer and worked on wiring boards (age showing LOL).
J.T. Kalnay gave me hope, joy, tears, and triumph. Can't wait to read more!
G1 is an entertaining and charming look into the life of a brilliant and athletic young woman, who turns to hacking and sports to deal with the bullying and hardship she experienced as a child. Whether it's winning triathlons, hacking into casino security systems to uncover cheating and different ways to win at blackjack, or simply being strong and independent, it shows the strength of a young woman's will to excellence regardless of the way people see her. Difficulties did arise during the course of the story for her, but she overcame them with the help of her friends and through her own willpower. The author's writing style was crisp, clear, and almost made it seem like you were reading an entertaining Internet story rather then a novel. The book was a joy to read, and it kept you wondering what other amazing things the main character would do next. Various keywords and lingo attributed to Computer Programming and Blackjack were used throughout the story, which gauged the reader's curiosity about what terms like "Basic" and "Fortran" are. Overall, it's an enjoyable tale, with a great moral behind it. You can be great, even if the people you grew up with don't think you are.
